Catherine Wells, owner and lead designer, founded Mandala Landscape and Design in 2018 after working in the design/build industry and seeing the opportunity to give her clients a more personalized and transparent experience with their landscaping projects.

Catherine is an award-winning landscape designer specializing in unique and custom designs of all styles, horticulture and plant knowledge, construction practices and project management skills. From the design phase through the construction of her projects, she is on-site placing plants, painting out hardscape and bed lines, determining heights and grades of hardscape features and ensuring all elements of the design are installed correctly.

After serving in the U.S. Navy and navigating warships around the world, she graduated from Colorado State University with a B.S. in Environmental Horticulture and a concentration in Landscape Design and Contracting. She has spent the past 10 years honing her knowledge of all aspects of the landscape design/build process.

Catherine strongly believes in the importance of having expert construction knowledge in addition to being a creative designer to ensure that what is designed on paper can be built correctly. She project manages each of her installations, guiding the crews and her clients through the construction process to ensure the design vision is brought to life.

Using unity and balance, color, texture and form, her designs and installations are customized to enhance the style, value, and year-round beauty of your home. With a passion for helping her clients transform their landscapes into their own personal sanctuary, she truly enjoys building lasting relationships and having a hands-on approach to the design and installation process.
